The PrivateBank & Trust Company

Background:

Headquartered in Chicago, The PrivateBank & Trust Company has 34 locations in nine states that focus on providing premium financial services. To create, build and preserve wealth, the company requires state-of-the-art communications systems and an experienced technology partner.

Challenge:

Offices required the ability to host boardroom meetings and conduct videoconferencing between locations. The PrivateBank also uses A/V solutions such as digital signage and other systems in lobbies, client lounges, executive offices, conference and training rooms. In addition, the Chicago boardroom presented a unique design challenge—a donut-shaped conference table with 360° seating. An A/V system had to provide unobstructed views from every seat, while a video camera focused on the speaker during meetings.

Solution:

We worked with architectural firm The Environments Group to design systems that seamlessly blended in with architectural elements in each office. Locations in Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Louis and Kansas City received robust communication systems. We used equipment from Polycom and Tandberg to provide video-teleconferencing, with the ability to share electronic documents and presentations. Operation of all A/V and conferencing equipment was simplified by integrated Crestron touchscreen controls.

To provide versatile training room systems, we integrated Crestron’s UPX-2 presentation system and included an 18" touchpanel that controls the system and doubles as a pen-based tablet, providing live annotation for interactive training.

For the Chicago boardroom, we strategically positioned Sony cameras around the room and integrated a voice-activated system that automatically focuses a camera on the person who is speaking. A retractable projector and 60" plasma displays allow 360°unobstructed views.

Results:

Pentegra designed and integrated systems that exceed The PrivateBank’s expectations. Offices can now host boardroom meetings and conduct videoconferencing between locations. Easy-to-use A/V solutions maintain the desired ambience in lobbies and other key areas. Training rooms are optimized for A/V presentations. Chicago boardroom attendees have unobstructed views from every seat, and presenters are automatically tracked by cameras. Plus, the entire system is expertly maintained by Pentegra Systems, for continuous trouble-free operation.
